Cartoon nails are still a rage, and this is my take on that style. As you correctly guessed, all was done freehand with nail polishes. It is extremely hard to do freehand (or layered stamping for that mater) when your hands are shaking like you are on 10th cup of coffee... Mine are shaky due to medications and I hope that this unpleasant side effect shall pass...
But now, let it be light!
I started with gorgeous Cirque Colors - Sugar Plum. Name is so appropriate for the season we are in. Love everything about this polish - the color, the finish, the whole shebang! It was fully opaque in two easy coats., and levels up nicely, so no sharp edges or bumps on the surface.
After my base dried, I used brightest polishes I could get for the big lightbulbs.
Orange polish is by Finger Paints - Iconic Orange, while other two polishes are actually stamping polishes by Colour Alike - MY CA (green) + Doctor Glow (yellow). I used Kaleidoscope - Fragrant Mimosa, another stamping polish to paint the base of the light bulb.
When this dried out, I added the black outline, and some twisted cords... all that was left to do was to add some white high light on the bulbs.
All was topped with glossy top coat. I was really tempted to add the matte top coat, but you know that I am glossy kind of girl, and I left it as is.
I had so much time wearing it yesterday, and they are still on my nails...
Have a wonderful day.
Cheers!
