I have some groovy Easter eggs for you today.
I started with pretty blue by Color Club Nail Lacquer - Factory Girl. Love this pretty blue, and I love wearing it. Blue is always a good choice, no matter what time of the year.
On thumb and index I applied an orange glitter topper by Formula X - Firecracker. I have this topper for the longest time, and I do remember to use it in manicure maybe once or twice a year.
Super cute images are on Clear Jelly Stamper - CjS H-107 stamping plate. This is the new, Easter themed stamping plate, and I absolutely love the images on it. I used several stamping polishes, and I am just too lazy to list them all, but in all honesty, you can't go wrong with any color combo you use here.
How I looked at it, Easter is like a big dress up for the eggs. Kind of like their Mardi Gras or Halloween... It is so much fun to look at this tradition that way.
Traditionally, we are decorating Easter eggs on Good Friday. I did some traditionally colored eggs using onion skins - this method never fails, and I always end up with most beautiful eggs. I also add some pretty leaves that would leave their "negative" on the eggs, so they are so pretty. My favorite are always dandelion leaves, and this is the only time of the year when I do not mind to find some dandelions in my garden...
This year I also tried some marbled eggs, and even though they ended up looking more like a granite, and this was also big success.
I also experimented with hibiscus - eggs supposed to turn deep indigo blue, but mine did not. Actually, they ended up having some kind of the slimy covering that I had to wash off, as it was off putting, and ended up with light grey eggs... I guess they did ended up like a jeans - not quite dark washed, but definitively acid wash. LOL!
I was disappointed as color is so pale compared with brilliance of color on other eggs.
In any case, they will be eaten all the same.
So happy Easter with those groovy, peace loving eggs.
Cheers!
