I wore this for whole week and I took it off just because I was getting bored with it. :-)
I felt like blue again, so I did negative space gradient. I did diagonal gradient using Sally Hansen - Pacific Blue and Big teal, and Sinful Colors - Savage. I added 2 lines of holographic striping tape. That was not enough, so I did a layer of holo topper - Quo by Orly - Falling star only over gradient. It did not look quite finished without stamping, so I went for simple geometric design in white, and my son told me that I did "Frozen". Well, I never watched the movie, and can't tell, but I guess, color scheme is about right. I had couple of people telling me the same thing, so I guess I was channeling my inner Elsa.

Day 31 OMD3Nails - My nails and my perfume.
Last day of challenge. This was fun. Done 30 out of 31 days (skipped fast food prompt on purpose). Saved sweet manicure for last day. It seem that I acquired taste for textured polish during this challenge. Good thing about textured polish is - last longer than regular kind, and even stamping will have little or no wear. I wore this to work last week for four days before I got tired of it. I think I just needed break from bright and light and do something different. Navy color is textured OPI - Wharf! Wharf! Wharf! and gold texture is China Glaze - Champagne kisses. I stamped image from Bundle Monster BM-317 and BM322 using Maybelline - Bold Gold and Sally Hansen - Black Heart. Of course, for photo-op I needed perfume, and I decided on my favourite - Lolita Lempicka. Real bonus is that bottle is so pretty, that I used blue and gold as inspiration. Aside form having pretty bottle, when I wear my Lolita Lempicka, I feel so feminine, so decadent, and I have to say I wear it mostly in the winter months. I think that on subconscious level, winter months prompted color and design choices. I have summer time favourite, but bottle was so plain, I decided against using it as a prop. Day 30 OMD3Nails - My nails and my bag. I was inspired by this pretty beaded clutch of mine, that I bought few years ago on the first sight, and never had a chance to wear somewhere... It kind of have a bridal feel to it, so I went with bridal manicure. Base coat on all nails but ring finger is Essie - Brides to be, soft, light nude. I just wanted to even out color of background, so I could stamp lace with Mundo de unas - White and QA94 plate. On my ring finger base is Essie - Tuck it in my tux, and I love that it have that see through feel. I stamped image from Born Pretty BPL-021 with Revlon - Copper penny, but it was almost invisible, even after I put matte coat, so I double stamped with China Glaze - Ingrid, really strange brown shade, and I almost perfectly lined them up - Almost - key word. I added some light gold, fine glitter (Glam Doll - Champagne), and put another layer of matte top coat. I know that my clutch have mother of pearl shimmer, and I used gold, but somehow I am getting the same vibe. Matte top coat is making everything soft focused, kind of like satin of the clutch. End result is this really soft, bridal look. I was writing this, and just about ready to post, when I realized, I never took pic of this clutch bag of mine, so here is quick, unedited, bad lighting pick of whole thing. Beads are hand sown, and someone put lots of effort into this, I can totally appreciate it. I don`t think I will ever wear it, but it looked so pretty, it had to be mine. :-)
Day 29 OMD3Nails - My nails and my drink. Hmmm. That will call for one boring picture if I show all of the water I drink, or coffee for that matter... I was thinking about some wine or champagne, but was bit too much for me to arrange, so I went with juice. Carrot and mango juice - to be precise, served in nice glass... on my deck, after day of work. Yes please! Cheers! This is one of the simpler manicure I done lately, using only two polishes. Light green is Butter London - Jaded Jack, neonish lime green crème, with full coverage in 2-3 thin coats, no undies. Dark color is pretty darn cool, and too bad pic don't do it any justice. It is darkest green jelly base, bordering on black with gold-green shimmer. It is Vinylux - Pretty Poisson, and I stamped with it too, using image from JQ-L19 plate.
Day 28 OMD3Nails - Princess. Well, there is a rumor I heard from confidential source at the palace. Princess was too busy entertaining foreign dignitaries to sit for me, so she let me use one of her tiaras instead. Respecting her wishes and lack of time to sit with me, I went to crack that Royal vault again, and to find mentioned tiara sitting pretty on her red velvet cushion... When time came to take a pic, I borrowed one of the necklaces to use as prop, took it out on the sunshine - only to find Royal treasurer following me and treating me with suspicion like I am there to snatch those diamonds or something...whatever. Apparently, he finds my roaming through vault among Royal jewels highly irregular and highly inappropriate. He was overheard that he has it with me, and will have serious talk with Royal family... Well, he act like a stick in the mud if you ask me - those jewels would be buried in the dark if it was not for me to take them out on the fresh air. They got more use since they hang around me than in years with him. I think he is just jealous. He is mumbling something about security over my shoulder. I better hurry up. Cheers! I used textured Nicole by OPI - My Cherry Amour as a base, stamped tiara with Maybelline - Bold Gold and JQ-L08 and I added rhinestone to it. I stamped rest using Sally Hansen - Lightening and QA-59. I originally started stamping with black, but it was impossible to see, as this polish is actually quite dark in the real life. It just get this bright and light only with direct sunshine on. You can see on my index finger little bit of black peaking behind yellow, which did not bother me one bit. I wore this manicure for 4 days, and nobody was able to see it. If I knew black will show this well on the sun, I would never stamped with yellow...
Day 27 OMD3Nails - Wings. I wanted to do biplane wings, but that may be light stretch of my freehand skills, and I know for sure Messy Mansion have image I wanted... so, I went with something easier. I finally got to use my MoYou London Pro Collection XL 05 plate, and did a butterfly wings. Something tells me those won't be the only one out there... Blue polish is Claire's Mood polishes ( or thermal) that is pretty both cold and warm with really imaginative name - Blue. When cold it is deep blue with purple shimmer, and warm is bit lighter, brighter shade with lighter blue-green shimmer. Only thing is - it chipped next day :-( . quite disappointing considering that we know how much I like my blues. I used Pure ice - Superstar! as white base, on which I stamped wings with Mundo de unas - Black, then I filled it in with sheer polishes. This was one of those occasions when your stubby Cinderella ended looking much better than her sister... It does not happen often when stars are on Cindy's side of the universe, so here is Cindy in all of her glory...
Day 26 OMD3Nails - Peace.
For this manicure I was inspired by graffiti art. Good thing I was never into doing graffiti myself, because by sense of proportion can be bit off. Sometimes, words written on the wall look pretty, but they can be hard to read. I kind of nailed this last part - pun intended. If you wondered, it reads Peace. I used textured polish - Nicole by OPI - Sand in my shoe - to make my surface more "Wall like". Only thisng I stamped is brick, using Bundle Monster BM-422. Everything else is done freehand with acrylic paints. My acrylic set contains only 6 colors: black, white, yellow, red, green and blue. All the other shades I use I have to mix myself, not that I use much of the other shades, just putting it out. I am actually quite proud of final result. When I finished manicure, I showed it to one of my sons - and he usually have outlandish answers to "what you think this should be?", but this time it was - Berlin wall! Wow! On our last safari, I wanted to take as many pictures of different animals as I can. So, after stalking one particularly tall giraffe, and finally managing to take her pic - only to realize, it was against scorching setting sun, and all I got was her silhouette. We managed to convince our guide to get us bit closer, but I gather this pics where too close! I guess, another safari is coming :-) .
Sunset gradient done with China glaze - Sun worshiper and Flipflop fantasy. rest of the nails are painted in Sinful Colors - On the bright side, that doesn't look so bright against that gradient... Stamping done using Revlon - Espresso and Bundle Monster BM-313 and MoYou London Mother Nature 08 plate. Day 25 OMD3Nails - weather.
Boy, I dislike this prompt with a passion! Your choices are so limited, and I did not care for any of them. I wanted to paint tornado... did not know how big to go, so I went with clouds. I did subtle gradient using Sally Hansen - White on, Color Club - In De-Nile and Sally Hansen Babe blue. I wanted silver lining, stamped image from Bundle Monster BM-312 in silver, but even after I topped it with matte top coat, it was invisible. I just double stamped with Mundo de unas White. Day 24 OMD3 - Flames.
I got totally on fire with this one. I love to see ghost flames on cars, but never really paid any attention how they are actually done, and I was too lazy to Google it. This is my artistic interpretation using Nail art pens in red, orange and yellow for drawing flames over white background. Yellow is Julep - Daisy, and orange is Julep - Kaylen. I did dry brush over yellow to simulate more flames. I actually liked how this came together, regardless of my freehand fail. OMD3 day 23 - Under the sea.
I have seen some cool pics of turtles swimming towards the sea surface, so I tried my hand with it. We can call this gradient radial, can we? I used LCN - Soft Daisy, Sally Hansen - Big teal and Pacific blue and China Glaze - First mate. Last one was left over on my desk from my yesterday manicure... I did some barely there stamping using China Glaze - Deviantly daring to mimic waves on the surface. I used Mundo de unas white and black for stamping on turtle and jelly fish images from Bundle Monster BM-504 and BM-503 from theirs Sun kissed collection. Dayy 22 OMD3 called for star sign. I figure it out to give an unicorn his own star.
Base color is China Glaze - First mate, glitter is also China Glaze - Liquid crystal. I didn't use sponge for gradient, I just dry brushed it until I reached desired effect. I stamped images from Born Pretty Store BP-11 and BP-41 with Sally Hansen - Silver Sweep. For 10% off on the BPS checkout, you can use my Code SHGK31. Day 21 at OMD3 calls for travel. This was tough one for me. I have a list of places I would like to visit, that is longer than my arm. There is few spots on every continent. Now you tell me where to start. Sooo, I had my suitcases packed and ready for any place, my private jet is on tarmac, and my pilot will take me wherever his dart hits on the map of the world. Of course, he will know our destination way before me because he has to have flight plan submitted before departure. I also have ice bucket with champagne cooling off for nice, relaxing trip, and just saying, there is plenty of room on my jet for anyone that wants to join me. Trip moto is: Keep calm and Travel on... Adventure, here I come! White crelly is one of the Kozmic Colours, and I did bit of the thicker coat on, and managed to dent it even before I took the photo. Unfortunately, I did not noticed until I downloaded pics from my camera, and by that time it was too late...
Gtold textured polish is China Glaze - Champagne Kisses. I stamped images from JQl-07 plate using Mundo de unas black. Gone into unknown... Girl can dream - don't you agree? Day 20 for OMD3 asked for jewels. I went with rubies, just because I could.
Base is Mirrorball by Orly, while red is Orly mini without name. For zig-zag design I used BPS item #19453 - paper I reviewed last week, only this time I used my own scissors to cut it up in zig-zag pattern. You are more than welcome to use 10% off code SHGK31 at the checkout at Born Pretty Store. I reverse stamped heart shaped ruby that I filled in with L'Oreal Jolly Lolly because this red is slightly more sheer, and I wanted holo glitter to shine through... I just picked wrong angle for picture taking. Image is from JQ-L18 plate. Apparently, there was not enough glitter, so I added little bit more, Sinful Colors - Decadent. Am I the only one that see Christmas vibes oozing out of this manicure? It may be just a color choice, but why not - Christmas in July? I could use bit of cooling off... Don't quote me in the winter though, I may change my mind by that time, and wish it warmer... Fickle mind... Must revisit this color combo in December. I am melting now from excess heat.... This one came out bit darker than I intended.
This was fun to do, and all done freehand just for you! First is did gradient featuring this colors: Sally Hansen - Babe blue, Ciate - Sugar plum and Talent scout and Finger Paints - Dance till dawn for bit of shimmer. Rest was done with acrylic paints. this would describe a dark night, witching hour. I grew up in the town by the river, so on my index finger I did bridge silhouette. There is always someone burning midnight oil, being just a parent of baby, working or studying to catch up with deadlines... Every town have at least one park, where street lamps along the pathway trying to pierce through silky darkness, but only succeed in shining columns of light straight down, and changing to color of leafs from black to silvery white on the nearby trees and bushes... One of the things most towns have is clock tower. Sometimes it is free standing, or it may be attached to train/bus stations for late night travelers, or it is on the church tower chiming hours as they pass... |
