I actually planned to skip this prompt, but one sweet friend gave me a little pep talk and gave me a much needed push.
Theme was Sharpie/markers, and that was totally out of my comfort zone.
Few years ago, I tried the sharpies + alcohol combo to create the marbled look, but all I got was stained cuticles and hot mess to clean up. That was my first and my last time trying out that particular method.
Now you know why I was not going to make a repeat performance of that fiasco!
Eventually I caved in, and give it another try, because there is nothing that I like more than the challenge! LOL!
I went with palest blue base - Color Club Lacquer - Astro-Naughty. Pretty color and great alternative to white. Takes 2-3 coats for the full opacity, depending on your application.
I figured this will be a great base for whatever comes out of this little experiment. As you can see, I had really high hopes about final result, LOL!
I stamped image from Nicole Diary-L20 stamping plate using Maniology - Delirium (use code SANJA10 to save).
I used hot pink highlighter, blue and green markers. I colored little patch of the color on my mat, then using the brush dipped in alcohol I 'lifted' up the color from my mat, and applied it into the bubbles.
Now, pink worked the best, while green just did not want to play nice. All the colors were visible in person, even though green totally disappeared on the photos...
Matte top coat was perfect finish for this manicure, even though I later on thought I should apply some glossy top coat over the bubbles, but that was the moot point, as I managed to hit my fingers against my desk hard enough to ruin 3/5 nails... so that was it for me!
Thank you Carolina for giving me confidence to try this, and who knows, I just may do it again, as I really liked the watercolor feel this gave me.
Have a wonderful and peaceful Sunday.
Cheers!
