I feel like I am stuck constantly using the same brand of polishes, Indies mostly, and more often than not, just trying to plow through what it seems at times never ending untried nail related stuff on my desk.
It is with deliberate thought that I actually remember to look in the drawers of my little cabinet to look for forgotten brands and polishes. Even though I am excited to try out new polishes, plates, powders and whatever else lands in my direction, I also do not want to forget older ones. It feels like balancing act in many ways.
For today, I have a balance of the old polish and new plate. I almost forgot that I have this beautiful multichrome from El Corazon - Chanterelle. I applied it over the black base.
This fall I ordered many winter/Christmas related stamping plates, and even in December - because 1. you can never have enough Christmas plates, and 2. to get some much needed inspiration.
I was in a writers block of some kind, and I was just going through the motions day to day basis, but after my husband passed away, so was the color drained from my world. I kept with posting, for myself, I needed and anchor, something routine and familiar in the new and uncharted waters I was tossed into.
Luckily, I had plenty of unposted manicures, and still have, and I almost had to re-learn everything again.
Considering that is still winter, I still have time to explore some of those beautiful plates still trapped in a blue protective film. I will release them into the world one at the time.
First one I wanted to show you is Uber Chic - Holiday Jingle.
As you can clearly see it is a Christmas plate, but there are few images one can use apart from the holidays, and I used them for this manicure. There are also quite a few of the layered images - pretty much entire right side of the plate, and some on the bottom. Uber Chic show the little arrow from image to image, linking them in the way that can help you with the order of the stamping if you are unfamiliar with layering plates.
For this kind of the images, clear jelly stamper is the must, and they are widely available in different sizes and firmness, to suit every taste. I do own quite a few of them, from different companies, but my favourite is the original Clear Jelly Stamper with a firmer head, and Debbie listed this type of the head as a decaling head. Mine is pretty old, and well used, and is getting cloudy, but I did use it at least couple of years, which is pretty good. My hubby cut the holder in the half to reduce tunnel vision, and I loving it.
I stamped single snowflake on my ring finger using Esmaltes da Kelly - Topolino. but I managed to completely cover it with the letters... I realised all too late that my nails are pretty small, and that my idea will not really fly...
Other polishes used were: Hit the Bottle - As black as night and Snowed in (from November My Mani Box kindly sent to me by Beautometry), and Esmaltes da Keilly - Faisca.
Wishing you safe drive to wherever you need to go, and really quick week.
Cheers!
