Summer time temperatures that we are currently experiencing, will force me to install my portable air conditioner before end of this week. I also have to water my freshly planted flowers more often, as everything dries so fast.
Today I have lots going on here, so let me begin...
I did a fluid art for the collab on Instagram, and this is how that came out.
Last time I played with fluid art, I done it by bolding my mat to blend the colors, but ended up with the smooshy... I did used it the other day for my astronaut look, and honestly, I thought that my polish was loosing its potency... then this came about.
Once again I used MDJ Creations - White Fluid Art specialty polish for the cell creating, and other polishes used here are as follows: L'Oreal - Paparazzi Pleaser + Royalty Reinvented and Sally Hansen - Posh Plum. This was the heaven for my purple loving little heart. You may notice that some of my L'Oreal polishes are having a repeated performance lately, and that is because I have plenty of polishes that did not see the light of the day for a very long time, and I decided to use op some of my older polishes for the fluid art.
Once again I tried to create the cells by folding my mat, and my disappointment was almost overwhelming. In desperation, I picked up my stamper, and Voila! cells were here!!! Yay!
Stamper is my true and tried method of doing the fluid art, so fact that this worked for me was awesome. I just had to wait for decals to dry... that may be the hardest thing. I am always so impatient, and want to peal them too soon, that I end up ruining the most of them... Point in case is my ring finger, where you can clearly see the white line where I almost ripped the decal in half...
Patience is virtue, maybe not mine virtue, but this does not make it less of the virtue.
After I took a tons of photos, I decide to stamp over it.
I am not a stranger to unusual color choices, and this one left me on the fence. Part of me loves it, and part thinks it was way too much.
Thing is, I just could not waste perfectly good background, and I had nothing to loose by adding a layer or two or three for that matter.
Images I used are on Nicole Diary - L33 stamping plate I got from Born Pretty Store. Plate is sold out, so I did not place any links here.
This plate contains some pretty animal print images - from full nail ones, to individual that can be used as is or combined.
First I stamped with Maniology - Straight-Up Black, then with Lina - Stop Lion To Me, but contrast was not what I had in mind. Next layer was Hit the Bottle - Lemon Meringue.
It was all fun and games until I decided to add to butterfly wings... In the end, I quit while I was ahead, so I just grabbed the top coat before I change my mind.
Like I said, I am on the fence with this one. I definitely love the those colors together, but in the same time fluid art and multi layered stamping could be considered clashing, as there is too much going on.
In any case, I had lots of fun with this, and some days I think that is the point. Have the fun doing the things you love, and your mental health will thank you.
For me, nail time is "me time", and sometimes I think I go overboard when I need some time to process all the day to day stress and/or just to think over the stuff that is going on in my life at any given moment. For me, this is therapeutic, almost the way of meditation.
I will spare you any more of my musing by wishing you all an amazing week.
Cheers!
