As it happens, I had water decals for a watermelon, not a strawberry, so I just went with it. I received those water decals as a part of a review package from Born Pretty Store while ago, and I already did review on them, but this particular item #33976 came with 5 different sheets in package, and each sheet had two different designs. Decals were numbered BPY 31-35, and this particular watermelon design is on BPY-35 decal sheet.
I loved how bold and modern this design looks, love the colors used and size of the decals. If you did not try them yet, you should give them a try.

I wanted to make a really funky manicure using those water decals, but instead of using neon pink as I originally planned, I changed my mind and did something different, and in process, I mocked it up!
This is totally failed attempt to make this manicure cool. I did not completely like how this look, but sometimes, when the idea that we had when we started something and finished product are totally different, we tend to dismiss it as a failure. Truth is, nobody but myself know what was in my head when I started, and no one knows that I failed in transferring idea into something visible.
That is the only reason why I am showing you this today.
Sometimes, I do manicures just for fun. They may not be wearable in a real world, even though some of my wearable stuff would not be something everyone would consider wearing... Some manicures are so impractical they last me as long as it takes to take a photos... some of them are fun, and I do wear them on the weekends, as they are made just for me.
I liked graphic elements here, but I don't really love it. We all been there, but
I wanted to play on the pattern and colors of the decals used. All nails are painted with OPI - Put a coat on. I like how opaque this polish is, and is my white of the moment. I always have at least one bottle of black and white polish going on at any time, and I have those two colors in pretty much all drugstore brands, and some indies.
Using the dry brush technique, I used Seche - Candid - pretty red glitter polish. Apparently, you can`t have enough of those - I have at least 5 of them, all very similar in shade...
There was another color used - Essie - Mojito Madness, but it looks like it disappeared.
This was pretty enough, and I should left it here... but I did not.
I should of use my acrylics and paint rough chevrons like ones on the decals, and call it a day - but no, I decided to stamp.
Well below is the result of that.
Zig-Zag image I picked was too regular, too small and too powerful for the decal - or should I say it is clashing with it, at least in my opinion. Image itself is on Dana 9 stamping plate, and I used Born Pretty - Black polish for stamping.
I decided to do something more... see how this just unravels... I already knew that I messed it up, but I just could not stop myself from trying to 'fix' it!
I topped the stamping with a Bitzy - Perky - iridescent glitter suspended in bright yellow base... This particular brand is available at Sally's Beauty, and I purchased few crellies from the same brand... I plan to use them soon. This glitter ever so slightly colored my white base, but that was not really visible on the photos, and I just could not bring myself to continue...
I wish you a wonderful day - play safe, and keep hydrated.
Cheers!
