Unicorns are really not my thing, but here I am, nevertheless trying to create the magic.
To create the magical background, I actually used the new technique for me, and that makes is extra special. Some days you really need to push yourself out of your comfort zone, and see where it will get you.
Something like that happened here.
All started with 2 coats of MDJ Creations - Fountain of Youth, one of the Robin Moses inspired artistic jellies.
Over the second coat I placed some cut up iridescent strips. What I was going for was some kind of shattered magical glass effect. This was a gamble, as what I used was not exactly an nail art supply. One of the indie makers used iridescent little bag to pack their polish for the Polish Pick Up, and I saved it for the project like this one.
So glad I actually did this. After this dried, I topped it all with MDJ Creations - Smooth Finish fast dry top coat. This is what I was looking at.
You will really have to take my word on this one. You can see some of the effect on my pinky on the photos below.
Images I used for the stamping are on Creative Shop 98 stamping plate. Had to admit that unicorn doing the hand stand (or was he doing the cartwheel?) is pretty cute.
Little dash of streamers, and we have a happy birthday to you Diana kind of manicure.
I hope you liked this little experiment of mine - there just may be a second try one of these days.
Have yourself a wonderful weekend, and for all the fathers out there - Happy Fathers day.
Cheers!
