I use vinyls next to never, so here I am at the beginning of the month, concurring my old nemesis...
Ages ago, I did an order from Mini Mani Moo, and these spiral vinyls were part of that purchase.
I always admire the people I follow, that use those vinyls and end up with flawless creation. This was not quite the truth for me, so here I am.
I started with soft, barely there lilac by China Glaze - In a Lili Bit.
I added a top coat, and did not rush this for a change... made me a coffee, caught on my social media, and when I was really sure that all layers were really dry, I applied the vinyls.
I was playing with the positioning the vinyls, and how much of them I actually want on my nail.
I was not going for the huge color contrast, but I was definitely going for the texture contrast.
Every time when manicure include vinyls, there will be texture in design. For those that are not familiar with the product, vinyls are low tuck 'stickers' made of soft plastic, hence the name. They can be in different shapes, from full nail coverage, to individual images. you can either use them on your mat (made into decal), or directly on your nail. Trick is to remove them as soon as you apply the polish, so you would not took off the chunks of the design. Better quality vinyls will give you super clean edges, and very striking manicure.
As I mentioned earlier, I used spiral vinlys from Mini Mani Moo, and was going for the textured contrast, and not only that I got it by use of the vinyl, I also used low textured polish from Color Club - Friends with Benefits. Loving the gold shimmers against that purple.
I have some of polishes from that Color Club collection that I barely use (and for the life of me I could not remember the name of the collection), and I just may use them more this month. It also helps that they are crowding my nail desk, so I can see them, and I also told myself I can put them away only after I finally use them... No pressure here.
When I was finished, I was totally smitten with this super simple design.
Cheers!
