With all the sun around, one has to be influenced to transpose it onto other aspect of the life. Guess what, that is exactly what happened here.
Instead of the blue sky, I used an off white for the sheer reason that temperatures are still low, and we do have the morning frost almost every day. That color choice was absolutely coincidental, because I was pretty clueless what I would do for the Dotticure prompt for What's Up Nails challenge.
I kind of played safe with the off white base color, and things kind of developed from there.
It seems that my dotticures tend to take the life of their own after I started them. This exact thing happened in my last attempt, and history kind of repeated itself here.
My base is China Glaze - Snow Way - greyish white with strong red flash, really pretty in person, and I had not seen this polish in a while, not just on me but in general.
As you will see it on the photos below, I did a gradient thing with the dots. I wanted it to look like a diamond over two nails, then I decided to expand it a bit over other two nails until my pinky was completely consumed, and I now regret that I did not add few more dots to the index finger... hindsight is always 20/20.
Dots are done using the dotting tool, and are done using red and yellow acrylic paint, that I custom mixed for every row of the dots.
Even though this is far from the perfect, and once again It did not quite go where I was planning, I have to admit I did not hate the result.
All was topped with the glossy top coat, and I could not look away. Isn't it just amazing how simplest of the looks sometimes can be so beautiful. Honestly, you do not need any fancy tools to do a manicure like this. Toothpick, pencil, bobby pin, or whatever else you have that can transfer the color onto the nail will work.
Only thing I can hope for is that your day will be filled with sunshine just like mine is.
Cheers!
