It is getting there, and took lots of sweat, tears and blood, but I am really happy with the results.
I am continuing with the space themed manicures, and today we are having some space rockets - you need to get to space somehow, and those are nice way of traveling into the space.
With more than one country participating in the space race, I had to stamp more than one rocket, each of them little bit different.
Once again, I am using unconventional color scheme. Thing is, I really do not want to wear all the dark colors at the moment. Bright colors are calling my name, and I am simply answering the call.
Name of the day was the gradient. My gradient was done with Color Club Nail Lacquer polishes, as they are one of my biggest collections. I love them as they are usually pretty opaque, and make gradients a breeze.
I was in the Winners couple of days ago, and almost bought another set of seven polishes, but then I placed it back on the shelf and walked away. I really have enough polishes for several life times, and I decided to use what I already have.
For this gradient, I used My Favorite Flannel (terracotta), Psychedelic Scene (orange) and Je Ne Sais Quoi (mustard yellow).
I topped the gradient with gold glitter by Barielle - Bird of Paradise.
I loved the final result, but I was not quite sure if it was really all that appropriate for the subject... like that ever stopped me before!
I discovered that I have great of amount of space themed stamping plates, and few of them have the rocket images. Instead of trying to decide, and pick just one, I decided to use some of them, and I stamped three.
I used following stamping plates: on index I stamped with Winstonia - W419; on middle Born Pretty- BP-A09 Deep Cosmos; ring finger Nicole Diary - ND009. The last image was simplest, so I added more details (shading) after I stamped it on my finger, to create more dimension.
You have no idea how much I loved this. I really loved the glossy version, but had to fight with the glare from my lights.
In the end, I caved in, and added the matte top coat, and last photo is matte and details are more visible.
As you can see, I am still undecided about my background, so I have one photo against my regular, glittery silver background, and some against the purple one. I think that some colors look better over the lighter and some over the darker background.
This particular manicure looked great over both, and in that case it is so hard to decide which one to post. After the inner debate, I decided that I can post them both.
All that is left for me to do is to say good bye, see you tomorrow.
Cheers!
