Considering that this coming weekend is Father's day, this is quite appropriate question...
And because I did this manicure quite ahead of the time, I could not pose with ask dessert, but is a great idea, and I just may make it for my husband.
Both - may dad and my husband favoured the same dessert. In my language is called Krempita but here, I have seen similar desserts under the name of Napoleon Squares, or Vanilla slices.
In a nut shell, we have a cool, creamy and fluffy in the same time vanilla flavoured filling, that is placed in between two sheets of puff pastry... There are few variations on the theme, but this classic, refreshing and decadent dessert is actual family favourite. It is served chilled, and pretty much only ingredients are: milk, eggs, vanilla, sugar and flour. This is cooked, and poured on the top of the pre- baked puff pastries.
My boys would attack it with such an zest, it is my pleasure to make it for them.
As a base for this I used one of my favourite China Glaze shades - Pearl Jammin'. I figured greyish base is kind of manly color for any manicure that would be devoted to dad.
Clearly, I did not have an image of the Krempita, so I had to improvise with my freehand. I painted it with acrylic colors using Winstonia - Berry Wine brush set.
Because the main flavour in Krempita is vanilla, I did vanilla orchid ( or at least what I thought it is image of vanilla orchid). That image is on Creative shop 41 stamping plate. I made decal, and only a part of the image could fit on my nail - sideways! For decal making, I used my original Clear Jelly Stamper, and design is stamped with Hit the Bottle - As Black as Night. To fill in the decal, I used Color Club - Macaroon Swoon (for flower) and Essie - Mink Muffs (for Vanilla beans).
I hope you will have a sweet day yourself.
Cheers!
