I started with oldy but goody polish by Orly - Lollipop. It was so long since I wore it, I totally forgot that I have it. That happens when polishes are not easily visible, you tend to overlook them.
In any case, purple is always a good color to wear if you ask me, and this one is super pretty.
While flipping through my stamping plates holders, I came across cute retro images on Mezerdoo 9 stamping plate, and even though my nails were really short at the time, I had to try it out.
Took me few tries to get the color scheme right... I absolutely hated every single decal I made, so In the end, I applied stamp directly onto the nail, using reddish stamping polish, then I used jellies to color in some of the arches. This was huge improvement on original idea, and then I added additional layer of gold stamping, which transformed this look from blah to yeah!
Funny how sometimes things work out differently than we planned...
Maybe it is the golden Midas touch, but this all of the sudden looked like art deco. I loved this, as gold also softened harsh red stamping, and because this gold is translucent, on some angles, gold was more visible, and on some it would totally disappear.
We are having a gorgeous, hot Summery weekend, and I hope that at least some of us can enjoy it. Have an awesome July.
Cheers!
