While my husband was alive, he would help and water them on regular basis, while I would do the planting and weeding... Even the weeding was not so bad, as it was kind of meditation, and I had something to show, and to be proud off. These days, my garden is not as lush - after a day at work, I have little to no energy to go and deal with the wilderness I call my yard... And on the top of it, there are all the other chores I have no one to share them with.
I have several rose bushes, because roses were always my favourite, but one in particular gives me a joy.
My double delight rose - creamy petals with the bright pink rims, and longer the bloom is exposed to the sunshine, more pink is on the petals. It has sweet, heady scent, and just one flower is enough to fill in the main floor of my house with its fragrance.
When Picture Polish announced #stayathome nail art challenge with the Fabulous Flora theme, there was not a doubt in my mind what will I paint on my nails.
I went freehand crazy here, and I used 5 Picture Polish shades here: Surf - beautiful sky blue crème I used as a base; Rebelle (peach) + Mad Magenta that I used for the roses, and Lime Lite (neon green) + Avocado (deep olive green) I used for the leaves.
In the end I added some white, as there was not enough contrast for the flowers, and I loved my thumb the best!
I am also featuring freshly cut nails. With all the hand washing + sanitizing, my hands and nails are so dry, I just chopped them off in order to prevent break, but also because shorter nails are easier to clean - we do not want any germy hot spots if we can help it.
I forgot how hard it is to paint with nail polish - you don't have much time to work with them, as they dry really fast. My freehand is rusty to begin with, but I decided that I need to practice more...
This 'stay at home' time is perfect for trying something you always wanted, but claimed you have no time for... you have all the time now.
Stay safe, and at home, keep your self busy, and all of this shall pass.
Have a great weekend.
Cheers!
