I did this manicure for the birthday collab for the wonderful lady IG@leonies_nailart. Theme was purple - which was real hardship for me... LOL! Just kidding!
I started with super pretty Essie - Play Date. I did not use it in a long while, even though this is one of my favorite if not favorite Essie shade.
I decided to go with glitter placement, as Leonie's glitter collection is as big as mine, if not bigger.
I was still deciding what to do, when lucky accident strike.
While opening jar of glitters, few "escaped" and landed on my stamper head... I had a fun time trying to move them around, and then I realized that by accident I might of stumble onto the glitter placement hack.
Here is little pictorial, and I will explain what is happening here.
So in the nutshell, this is a dry method. You can use all the shape or size of glitters, and trust me, I did try it after I did this particular manicure. Worked every time.
For this, I applied the top coat over the placed glitters, and when it was dry, I simply stamped it on my nail. This is my pinky on the photos, and while I was taking the phots, I accidentally twisted the glitter patch, but you can clearly see that this is working. Later on, I did not added a top coat, but "stamped" the glitter straight over the sticky base coat.
I added top coat before the stamping to even out the surface. Beauty here is that you can do this as slow or as fast as you want. With clear stamper you can always see how far you need to go, and there is less frustration involved all around. What I need to try is to use more than one color.
Now, how easy was that!
This is how my glitter placement looked before I stamped over.
Thing is that I own Uber Chic - Party Time stamping plate for couple of years, and it was the high time to rescue it out of the protective blue film.
For stamping, I used Maniology - Bam! White, and What's Up Nails - Fab Cab.
I loved little bit of yellow over this gorgeous purple polish.
I had some fun taking the photos here, even lighted up a birthday candle!
Now I want to do the easy glitter placement all the time! I think I created the monster! LOL!
Only thing left for me to do is to wish Leonie a happiest birthday.
Cheers!
