These days I am trying to break out my comfort zone in many spheres, and I do it even on my nail related purchases. All of the sudden, I started ordering the colors I usually would not look twice at, and now I call them - adventurous purchases.
One of those adventurous purchase is the base polish I am wearing here.
I ordered it from Nailstuff.ca, and I absolutely love their service. I do not have to wait longer than four days for my purchase, which is like a record for me. So happy that I tried this Canadian exchange, and it will be one I order again from, that is for sure.
My base is 'Ard As Nail - Cake Frosting.
I made exception for this one. Cake Frosting, even though is soft pink, is full of delicious iridescent flakies, and gold to pink color shifting shimmers, that makes your nail look like an opal. I love opal, and just that made it acceptable in my books... Plus, there was so much sparkle, and we know that I love sparkly things.
I was also pleasantly surprised how well this flakie crelly covers! I expected it to be super sheer, but it was almost fully opaque in 2 coats. On the swatch above, I am wearing 3 coats and no top coat.
Another thing I do not do often enough is a freehand. So this one is 100% freehand design, and I have to admit, I was extremely pleased with the results. I was so pleased, that I ended wearing it for 3 days, and did not really want to remove it.
I also discovered, that I paint better with my non dominant hand, than with my Cindy! I always knew I was ambidextrous, but this was a bit of the shocker, even though when I think back, I would do intricate freehand designs on both of my hands. Well, I do have a photos to prove it!
Cindy may do most of the work, and is usually sporting slightly shorter nails than the more photographed sister Lefticia, but she is always decked out and equally taken cared of.
For painting, I used acrylic paint, then sealed it with 2 coats of top coat for durability. I even have a thumb shots to show you - I put them into collage. My creamy roses look more pink, but they blended with the background, so I had to adjust. In the end, I added some grey shading around the edges to differentiate them little bit more, and that created some more dimension. Some of the roses, or even better - all of the roses on my Cindy looked so much better to me that ones on my non dominant hand.
I hope you will have an awesome day.
Cheers!
