In my defense, I don't think that I did many argyle designs, but I wanted to use my Cici&Sisi - Plaid Overprint 02 stamping plate.
I have to admit that those are the best acrylic stamping plates I ever tried. Images pick up really clean, and they are easy to clean, even though you would not think that considering that face of the plate is white. All of the plates I have, look like new even after several uses.
I purchased few plaid plates at the same time, and I decided to use one of the different prints for the change, and argyle did just fine.
As a base I used Different Dimension - 50 Shades of Gravy.
50 Shades of Gravy was part of Halloween collection, and I think I purchased almost the half of that collection, I loved it so much. This is nude flakie crelly with some silver micro shreds, and some contrasting color-shifting gold to red shimmers. You can see the red on my nail, and gold was nicely captured on the bottle. On the swatch above, I am wearing two coats and no top coat.
I love to wear nude polish, even though I have to admit that not every shade agree with my skin tone, and this one was one of them, not that this fact would prevent me from wearing it.
That was the reason for going with the stronger, brighter color for stamping, and my choice was Esmaltes da Kelly - Ulli. Loved how this bold coral looked against this nude. For some reason, my camera decided that Ulli was too bright, and toned it down few notches to almost a peachy shade on the photos.
I also added white - Esmaltes da Kelly - Dolly. I wish I was bolder in the second stamping color choice, because this one made it look pretty bland... especially on the photos.
Hindsight is always 20/20! LOL!
In person, this was much bolder, and I loved seeing this pattern on my nails.
On the plus side, we are in the middle of the week, so Yaayyy!
Have a wonderful 'hump day'.
Cheers!
