You know that from time to time I open the drawers that are usually closed, and then I pick a polish from that drawer to use. I went even further here - I picked random polish blindly, and used it. My random pick was Zoya - Debbie. This is beautiful chocolate brown crème. Interesting enough, I have just a few brown polishes, and to pick one hidden among all the other colors is skill on its own.
I also had some of the foils on my desk from playing with them week or two ago, and I wanted to try something different.
I used two different foils - brown with pink undertones and gold one.
To apply the foils, I did not use the foil glue. I actually used Orly - Bonder, sticky base coat. First, I did a bigger surface on my ring finger, thumb and pinky, then I did a gold foils after I figured the timing for the Bonder. It has to be almost dry - foil has to be pressed firmly, and I just used pad of my finger. Then I just peeled off the foil film. If Bonder is not dry enough, you will remove everything, as foil will not stick. Just give it few more seconds and re-apply the foil.
As for results - it worked better than I hoped for.
On my ring finger I stamped, actually I double stamped pretty swirly image from Nicole Diary-150 little round stamping plate. For stamping I used bright green and turquoise.
I used the same colors to add more of the swirls next to the one done using the foil, and this was it!
To preserve shine of the foils, once again, I used Maniology - Smudge Free Top Coat. This top coat will seal the stamping and foil or chrome powder, but you will need another coat of the top coat of your choice to really protect your manicure.
I loved this intense manicure as it made me think of spring - lots of bare, brown earth, with some rivulets of the water from the ever melting snow and with some fresh green poking from the fertile ground.
Have a great weekend.
Cheers!
