This was the case when I sat down to do this manicure.
I was going to do some cake manicure, and after I added a slice of cake, I was kind of stuck on the mental image of Marie Antoinette infamous words: "Let them eat cake!"
And I figured, why not put those words on my nails... and here it is - Inspired by a famous person.
Super soft and pretty base is Cupcake Polish - Trampled By A Shopping Cart.
As with other Cupcake Polishes I have, this one has smooth, easy to apply formula with the great coverage. On the swatch above, I am wearing two coats, and no top coat.
My freehand lettering leaves lots to desired, so I stamped (double stamped actually) each and every letter... One of the plates from AliExpress.com purchased plates - XY-Z03, had a little alphabet on the bottom of the plate, and was perfect for this. Letters were stamped using Hit the Bottle - As Black As Night, and Snowed in.
Because this was not easiest thing to photograph, in the end, I added a matte top coat over the lettering, so you can actually read it.
Slice of cake on my ring finger was on MoYou London - Happy Birthday - 02 stamping plate that was part of April 2018 My Mani Box. I received this box as courtesy from Beautometry.
In the end, my sweet cake manicure was not as sweet at all.
Famous quote attributed to Marie Antoinette, either showed her lack of care, or ignorance towards the starving peasants... Either way, it was not historically proved that she actually said those words.
Reality of fiction, those words made way to my nails, perfect for the middle of the week.
Cheers!
