Patchwork can be passion, can be hobby, occupational therapy, way to make money, or just necessity of life.
Decades ago, I was watching some TV show where lady was doing a really neat patchwork designs, and I was so taken by her work, I figured, how hard it could be... Got some scraps of fabric, started cutting, and instead of big comfy quilt, I made a toss cushion. That was as far as I went with it. In my own defense, at least I gave it a try. It is much harder than it looks.
On my nails, I started by painting all nails with OPI - I just can't Cope-acabana, sunny yellow crème I did not wear in very long time.
Because this girl needs some sparkle in her life, I decided to paint my thumb and pinky with Girly Bits Cosmetics - Jive Talkin'.
I really loved the combo. So far so good. Then I decided to give a freehand a try. My thoughts were - how badly you can mess up the patchwork... well pretty bad if you ask me.
I did everything with a nail polish directly on my nails.
First I did a random color blocks, then using a BeMe Nail art pens, I made different designs on those color blocks. Using the black Nail art pen, I drew the lines and stitches, but it looked really harsh and Halloween-ish, so I added some white dots in between to soften it up.
Can you tell that I was making this up as I was going along?
Painting with nail polish is so much harder than doing it with acrylic paint. Acrylic paint is more forgiving, you can easily wipe it if you mess up and does not dry as fast, which means that you have more time for a detail work. This is as detailed as I would go with nail polish.
I also added some matte top coat over my quilted masterpiece...
On this bright note, I will wish you a wonderfully bright day.
Cheers!
