Actually, I had so much joy creating this, and was done for my soul.
I started with Color Club Lacquer - Once upon the time, clay gray crème.
Lately I have so much issues with my lighting, and all of the sudden, if I wear only plain polish, my camera just distort color of my skin so bad, I pretty much hate all the plain swatches I did lately.
On one of my trips to a craft store, I found package of gold leaf, and could not leave without it.
While there, I was debating taking the silver colored one too, but decided against, as this will take me eternity to use up. Using tweezers, I made smaller pieces of the gold leaf, and I applied in only on half of each nail.
Contrast between the cool colored crème polish and warm colored gold leaf was so pleasing to the eye.
I figured this will make some nice base for the design I had in my head. Just to let you know, end result is nothing like I had imagined, but I loved it anyhow.
Fairly recently I purchased plate from Nicole Diary - 051 and decided to use it.
I really wanted this in colors, as my base was pretty neutral, but combination of the gold leaf and stamping was less than satisfactory. There was little to no contrast, so I reverted to my standard of black and white, even though on my ring finger you can see some of the colors peaking. There are several layers of stamping on that nail.
All was topped with Lucky 13 Lacquer - We're All Matte Here, matte top coat.
That top coat seem to be my top coat of the choice lately.
As I said, I really loved the finished manicure, and was enjoying it on my nails for a couple of days.
This may not be my only post for today... stay tuned...
Cheers!
