I started with Ciate - Pillow fight as a base for this manicure, and I really love this gray that have just a hint of purple in it. This is the best part of today's manicure, even though I have to admit - I do have lots of gray polish in my collection for a person that likes bright colors.
I also used Butter London - No more waity, Katie. This polish looks beautiful in the bottle. Gray base with lavender glitter - like nothing I own... but! As I said, this polish is pretty in the bottle, and that is it. I tried to use it as single polish, needing couple of coats for full opacity, but I hated it so much, I had to remove it immediately. When applied to a nail, all the lavender prettiness disappear, and you are left with dull gray. I tried today to layer it over gray base ( Pillow Fight), but it did not improve on appearance. I ended up mattifying it, which kind of brought glitter out, but did nothing for my nail art, so I did glossy finish over as an afterthought. Let's chalk this one up as polish purchase I regret.
I used JQ-L09 for a owl design, stamping with Revlon - Espresso and ended up making a decal... I was going for snow owl look, but I missed mark there too - it ended up too dark... Big sigh...
I freehand branch and leaves using fine brush and nail polish. I used some holographic shades in the leaves, that just did not look right matte, so I added glossy top coat over the leaves.
Somehow, this just did not came up to my liking, even though have that Autumn feel to it...
Well, tomorrow is another day... another manicure...
