First item I received is Nicole Diary Aurora Neon Unicorn Nail Glitters, and I have color choice 1 to show you.
Even though it may seem that jar is only half way full, it is filled by weight, rather than volume. You should not be worried though. Little goes long way, and there is enough for few manicures on all of your nails.
Site directions for application include gel polish application, but you do not need the gel for that and this fact makes it more accessible and attractive to wider audience - be that you are professional, do your nails fanatically (like myself) or you like to have something really different for that special occasion.
In my experience, I know that those powders can show really different depending of the base color, I wanted to show you this item over black and over the white base.
I also wanted to streamline my application, because let's face it, powders can be messy. I had seen few bloggers use stamper for application, and I had to try this trick. With application over the gel, you have no worries, as gel is cured and hard, and you can rub it (or tarnish) to your heart content without consequence.
When applying over the nail polish, your polish has to be dry, but not completely, and this line is really fine and blurry in between. Your touch has to be light and even, and more often than not, you might pull the polish and ruin the smooth, mirror like chrome finish. It really doesn't matter if you use sticky base coat or not. I did not use it here.
What I did is, I rubbed small amount of the powder over the stamper head using provided applicator. I used strokes in the same direction, and when I had a surface just a slightly bigger than my nail, I pressed the stamper head on my nail, and powder transferred perfectly to my nails. Note: this might cause clouding of the clear stamper head. I cleaned the head by washing it in a lukewarm water and dish soap.
To preserve chrome finish, I used Piggy Paint - Water based top coat. Regular top coat will make it 'grainy' looking.
I wanted something simple, and seasonal, but did not want to go for the obvious... you know that I embrace being different.
I decided to used images from plate I purchased few years back from Nicole Diary - ND006. My plate was part of the set of 10 plates, but I noticed that you can purchase this plate on its own, and I provided you with the link.
For stamping, I used Esmalte da Kelly - Dolly (white), and China Glaze - First Mate that is actually regular polish that stamps really good.
I thought that nautical design is perfect for the season, and also for the look of this chrome polish.
Would I recommend this product - Absolutely! It is easy to use and results are incredible, too good to pass.
