I did a newspaper design, and there are few ways on achieving this:
1. You can have a stamping plate with the newspaper print, and you can stamp it. That could be possibly the easiest method.
2. Once, couple of years back, I did an alcohol method- you place small piece of newspaper over the light color polished nail, and place over that a cotton ball dipped in alcohol. After 10-15 seconds, remove both, but try not to move the paper. You should have a mirror image of the newspaper print on your nail. Top coat, and you are golden.
3. This method I want to call a top coat method, and is one I used here. I applied thin layer of top coat over some newspaper print, and let it dry. When dry, I placed pieces of top coated paper in the water for a couple of minutes, then gently rubbing it, I removed as much paper as I could, leaving me with wrap like decals I applied using a sticky base coat - Yellow stopper in my case.
I painted nails with shimmery and sheer Ever After - Top it off. I applied my home made wrap and cut to size using a small scissors. I held onto the decal until it was completely adhered to my nail.
For rest of the nails, I wanted to use smaller pieces, and I also wanted to have some burned pieces... for that special effect, I actually set my wrap on fire... you can't get more authentic than that.
Finished this with layer of matte top coat. At the moment, I am using Wet'n'wild top coat.
As you can see, newspapers are not only for reading, but for nail art too. (*_*)
Have yourself a wonderful day.
Cheers!
