I made a conscious decision to go little bit different route. Mixed technique was called for, and I really wanted something little bit different than usual. This may be too abstract for some viewers, but honestly, I absolutely loved the results.
My bright and beautiful blue base is by Sally Hansen - Denim.
Over this beautiful shade, I went with glitter placement. I did full nail coverage on middle and ring finger, and scattered on my index finger. Glitters used are by What's Up Nails - Sapphire Confetti, and this is a mix of round, different sized glitters in metallic blue and gold, and matte white glitters.
I used them all, as I imagined this as a surface of the ocean with some seafoam, and reflection of the sun on the surface of the water.
This was so pretty, that approaching a next stage was actually scary. This next technique is not the one I excel in, which made it even harder to jump in.
I used a technique in which you add a drop of the nail polish on the surface of the water like you will water marble (I went with white), but you stop at that one drop, spray some hair spray. High alcohol content + force of the spray will break the nail polish on the surface into almost a lace looking pieces. I usually do not have a hair spray at home, as I am allergic to it, but had some alcohol in a spray bottle, and that is what I used here. Took me few tries, but eventually I barely managed to get few pieces I liked. All you need is to dip your nail, and it is applied. It sound easier than I found it.
I was really happy with the results, and this was so pretty to look at.
This may be too abstract for some of you, but I like to get out of the comfort zone and try to do something I may not be the best at, but practice makes perfect.
Have yourself an amazing day.
Cheers!
