I was really exited about this wraps, but they were different than what I expected... I actually thought that they would be hollow... and that would be awesome, even though tricky to place on the nail...
Last time I tried wraps was about 10 years ago... that did not go well, but I figured that technology advanced, so I wanted to give them a second try.
I can tell you with confidence that technology in making the wraps stand still... which is unfortunate. I really liked the look of those, They came on the white backing, and on the photo you can see that negative space is filled with fine glitter, and in did not know if this wrap will be white, or clear...
That is why I used pretty neutral polish as a back ground - Sally Hansen - Pink Pong.
You start with application of the wrap on the bottom of your nail, and gently press to get any possible air bubbles out, and you work your way towards the tip of the nail. What ever is hanging over, I removed with really fine nail file. Some wraps would came with a file, but I found that was too coarse, and would make my nails rough, and wrap would 'shred' at the edges. That is why I use fine nail file, and I file in downwards strokes. This will keep edges nice and tight against the nail, and finish would be flawless.
First nail that got a wrap was my thumb... and here goes the reason why I do not like wraps - I find them too thick, and unyielding. I have curved nails, and I would got those big creases, that would not sit flat. I was doing this on the both hands, because I wanted to wear this to work, and by the time I finished with other hand, some of those stickers started to lift up.
I figured if I use just a portion of the wrap, then I only have one curve to fight instead of two, and that worked to some extent. I do not think that this would stay on my nails till next morning.
If they came up with a water decals in this design, I would love them. Full nail water decals would crease too, but those creases are flat, and by the time you apply the top coat, you can't really tell where they are... unlike wraps.
I was really upset, because I loved how this looked. So modern, and edgy, but in the same time timeless and elegant. Unfortunately, I would go out of my mind if I kept them, so I removed this as soon as I took photos. I included only one photo with my thumb, and you will see what I meant...
I really hate to give negative review, and this is mixed one. I love clean look of those wraps, but if you have curved nails, I would not recommend them. That said, there is plenty of ladies out there with a flatter nail beds that could use them. If you are the one of them, by all means, give it a try, you may like it.
Unlike stamping, you do not have to worry that your lines would be warped. There is also that taste of chrome nails, but very tasteful - on the plus side, there is no gel polish or curing or mess. Just stick it on the clean nail with or without base polish.
I paired this with triangular studs, item #35121.
