Plates are never a problem here, as I own plenty of them, but I won't lie - I did like last set of six colors much better. I just do not do well with a pale, faded out shades all around. My skin tone does not agree with pastel colors, and those here reminded me of pastels. Only saving grace in this set is black- something to anchor all of those pale colors.
Given colors for this time were following:
1. Black, and I used Hit the Bottle - As Black as Night.
2. White, and I used OPI - Put a coat on!
3. Pale, yellowish green, like a celery - Essie - Chillato
4. Mint green - LCN - I Love Mint
5. Darker green - MoYou London - Meadow green
6. Light pink - Mariposa polish without name.
I could go many different ways, and I did one with dry marble that I hated, and probably will never show you, but then again, I may... heavens knows.
Then I did this one, and liked it slightly better than my first try. Images are from MoYou London - Greek Mythology Collection 08 plate. Those been my first buffet style stamping plates, and I always thought of them as a piece of art. They are just beautiful to look at, but honestly, I always found a hard time to use them. They are enchanting and little bit scary in the same time. That is the reason why I always try to use them in those contests, so at least I can tell I used them once! Some of them are really easy to use, but some of them are very pleasing to the eye, but all of the pieces are too small to use on a nail, and that always bothered me.
When I started this manicure, I actually had something totally different in mind. I made decals, because that was the only way to use all of those colors in a cohesive look. When decals dried, and I started applying them, I was changing it and adjusting it as I was going. My scissors were here, and I just kept on cutting. I made decals out of two different images from the same plate, because I did not know which one of them I will actually use... Ended up using both of them.
I even used some rhinestones in given colors - mint green and white! I thought little bit of the bling can't hurt...
What I went with was some kind of negative space manicure, and I liked pinky and ring finger nails the best. This would look awesome with stronger, saturated, vibrant colors. This reminded me of faded out bird of paradise - one that was left too long on the sun, and all colors were bleached... That really bugged me, but I do not have it in me to try something else with these colors. In the same time, if you do not enter, you can not win. One of these days, that may happen. I just have to be consistent in my efforts.
My mom did not gave a birth to a quitter - I am like a pit-bull - once I take a hold onto something, I do not let go...
That said, I will let you go. I just want to thank you for stopping by. Take care.
Cheers!
