For that purpose, I even purchased Mini Mani Moo - Moo Gel Peel off clear gel base coat. You apply it as you would apply any other base coat, then I cure it under my LED lamp for 60 seconds. Directions say 30 seconds, but I feel like it was not hard enough. I also was wearing it as a base coat under the regular nail polish. It usually last me at least a week, with daily change of manicure, and could possibly last me longer, if I would let it...
Beauty of this base coat is that you do not soak your nails in nail polish remover to remove it - you soak them in hot water for 5-10 minutes, and you are able to peel it off of your nails. I did took regular showers, and hand washing, and even doing the dishes... and they lasted me a week.
I was feeling like a white base and I used Orly gel FX - White Tips. I thought that would be a great base for any nail art, but also if I decide to use neon polishes.
Around that time, I also got a foil glue. I purchased one from Born Pretty Store in November, but it was so cold here for months, when I finally received it, it was solid frozen, together with couple of thermal polishes, that when finally thawed, it stayed solid. I waited till spring to re- order, as I did not want this to happen again.
I wanted to try out the foils so bad, but in the same time, I did not want to completely cover up the white...
There is always a compromise, and I found one here too. In my little stash of foils, I found one that was not solid, but rather iridescent. Foil glue is milky white when applied to the nail, and you have to wait until is clear before you apply the foil. I cut piece of foil, and pressed it onto my nail with my finger, and when removed, result was pretty good for a first timer! Result was something that reminded me of mother of pearl, inside of the sea shell - so pretty and delicate.
I wanted to do foil stamping, but that was dud, my glue did not behave, and all that I achieved was a ruined stamper head. Since then, I did purchased foil stamping polish, and I already have a manicure done with it. Totally worth every penny I invested in it. I am totally obsessed with foils, and with practice, I can only get better!
I wish I stopped here, but I did not... you kind of expected it from me...
I did some stamping first with Kaleidoscope - St. 01 Black, then double stamped with Superchic Lacquer - Swoon. I also used Swoon on my pinky, for some kind of negative space look...
Image used for stamping is on XY-L32 stamping plate.
I also added few rhinestones... in for a penny in for a pound as old saying goes.
Even though I was not 100% happy with those, I did ended up wearing them for rest of the week.
I wish you all wonderful day.
Cheers!
