All started by me feeling no inspiration whatsoever, and ended as the manicure I could not love more than I did.
When I feel like my inspiration is dried out, I just pull the pretty polishes, glitters, foils, and all the pretty shiny stamping plates to see if any of them will prompt me to do something different.
I had all the blues and green stamping polishes lined up, and I really loved the look of those three standing next to each other, and I decided to revisit the stamping gradients. I did not do them in a while, and what I love about them is unpredictable 'rawness' in the lack of the better word. Sponged gradients are smooth, color transition flawless, but stamped one may be little bit rougher at the edges, colors may not blend all that perfectly, so there may be some streaks left behind which in my humble opinion gives them extra charm.
I used one of the several negative space images I have, and if you wonder what kind of image is, it just look like they etched all, so there is just an empty space left...
I used Hit the Bottle - Emeralds are Forever + To Thine Own Elf be True + Peacock Shimmer.
Loved the gradient so much, and I wanted to do something different with it. It is still the Summer time, but I decided to do something other than palm trees, and I started flipping through my stamping plates, and I decided that two of them would do perfectly for just flashed through my head...
First, I pulled out the Uber Chic - Seas the day, and I stamped the light house, then using Uber Chic - Out of This World, I stamped the moon sinking into the ocean.
This was great, but little definition, so to define sky and sea, I used fine brush and Peacock Shimmer to make the ocean line... maybe too dark, but I was still happy with my horizon line.
All that I need to do is to add some 'stars', so I reached into my loose glitters, and added few different sized silver colored glitters, that I added to the ocean and to the sky... reflection of the moonlit night would make the tiny little currents in the ocean so sparkly, it was no brainer to place them there.
When I was done, all I could think was that this is not just any moonlit night - it was the one that also had a spectacular Aurora Borealis show (Northern lights), and I absolutely loved everything about it.
I will never forget my first Summer in Canada and feeling I had watching them dance in the night...
Have yourself an amazing day.
Cheers!
