Luckily for you I am not to talk about that type of monsters today.
I am to talk to you about different kind of monsters, ones that are called that, but could be considered creatures - some are cute, some are friendly, some are grumpy, but there is consensus on the fact that sightings are rare and far in between...
I am talking about Bigfoot, Yetti, Kraken, Nessie, or in my case Ogopogo, less known cousin of the Nessie..
Last year, I did a freehand version of the Ogopogo, lake monster that lives in Okanagan Lake. My town lays on the most northern shore of the Okanagan Lake, and that lake is hemmed by hills. Some of those hills are grassy, some are wooded areas. Even though by a fluke of nature we been locked in snow for the last five months (my yard is finally snow free), Summers in Okanagan Valley can be dry and hot. grassy hills will turn yellow, and there is always possibility of the wooded area to get on fire, so most of the Summer, we have a fire bans on the campsites around the Province.
It is so nice to sit by the lake looking at the waves, and reflection of the hills on the surface of the lake.
As I said earlier, last year I did a freehand version of Ogopogo, but this time, thanks to the fellow Okanagan Valley plate maker Debbie of Clear Jelly Stamper, and plate done in collab with IG@clairestelle8. Plate is CjS-46, and I am pretty sure it contains image of Nessie, but I do not think Nessie would mind to be called Ogopogo!
I started by painting my nails with Picture Polish - Surf.
I proceed by painting the few clouds and hillside as a background for my lake monster Ogopogo.
First, I stamped the lake monster with Messy Mansion - Forest, then double stamped with Hit the Bottle - Lucky Spark. Then I stamped waves using another Hit the Bottle polish, this time regular one, named Vision of Islands. Because this is not a stamping polish, it was slightly sheer stamped, but that was actually the effect I was going for. I wanted to be able to see bottom part of the Ogopogo, so it would look like it is swimming through the water.
Finished all with a layer of glossy top coat.
I wish you a wonderful Sunday, and maybe you can find out more about your local legend or monster.
Cheers!
