Every time I came across the matte foil image, I would stop, and tell to myself: You have to try this once.
This is my once...
I started with Bliss Polish - Bonfire, one of the polishes from the Fall trio. I did purchase several trios lately, and I will break them up for show and tell...
I proceeded by applying the foil glue onto my index and middle finger. I do not use foil glue often enough, but in a nutshell, it is milky white when applied, and you have to wait for couple of minutes until glue is clear, and then it is ready for foil application. I decided to use multi colored foil, and would just touch the nail with the foil, then I would quickly pulled it off, and then onto another color until I was satisfied, or in this case until I just about covered whole nail.
I knew that I wanted to use matte top coat, but regular top coat would wrinkle and dull the foil, so I decided to top it with the gel matte top coat.
In retrospect, I wish I left it here, but I had to try to do something more, and it really did not work for me. I was glad I did have a gel top coat, as I removed stamping more than once. For some reason, I had trouble stamping over it, and it could be that I just had an off kind of day... it happens to the best of us.
Image I used was from Mezerdoo 6 stamping plate, and I stamped with Hit the Bottle - As Black as Night on my middle finger, and then double stamped using Hit the Bottle - Snowed in that was in November's My Mani Box.
In the end I was so frustrated that I decided to leave it as is...
I really like the look of matte foils, even though it was not perfect. I have to practice more. It was nice to play with foils, as I do not do that often enough...
Last weekend I changed up my little photo taking space, and my lighting is bit different. I hope that this time I will finally get the things right...
Cheers.
