Candice (IG@funeralfacenails) decided to do a mani swap. This is when two artists (note how I just called myself a one), decide to recreate one of the manicures other artist did.
This is all fantastic, and can be challenging - Let's say, Candice's nails are twice my length, and I pretty much doesn't own plates she does. It happens that she had a plate I used. I think that is the fun - to try to do something with what you do have.
This is the manicure I decided to recreate from Candice.
All the elements, colors, matte finish, all just came together perfectly.
Honestly, you should check her account for amazing manicures.
I tried to give this a justice, but considering my nail surface and lack of the exact images, I had to restore to heavy improvisation on every level.
I actually had two version of this, and I wore the first one for the few days, but decided to redo it, as I was not quite happy. My colors were off, and my stamping polishes - even though very different in the bottle, looked exactly the same on the nail, which annoyed little old me to no end.
Eventually, I changed color of the mauve/grey polish, and I changed my stamping polish to something that would be more- pink.
I used Lucky 13 Lacquer - Dark Matter as my black polish. I painted every second nail with it. Two nails are painted with Layla - N.07. This was the closest to the color that Candice was using, or at least I thought so.
For stamping, I used three polishes: Mini Mani Moo - Black, Essie - Good as Gold, and Colour Alike - Spring Crocus.
Plate I used are totally different than Candace used, and this is not exact replica, more like strongly inspired look...
Plate used are: UberChic 27-01 (middle finger), Clear Jelly Stamper - CjS-05 + CjSC-09 (bird and cherry blossom), and Born Pretty - Flower Yarn - S002 (butterfly).
At the bottom, I placed the photo that shows the collage of both manicures - originals and recreations, and you can see Candace's recreation of the manicure I did last summer.
Have yourself a wonderful day.
Cheers!
