I felt like I wanted to do something different, and here is the different... I was in a mood for the magnetic polishes, but wanted to use them differently.
I am not by any stretch of imagination great with water marble, but I decided to give it a try. Honestly, it was a nightmare.
For this, I used some of my older magnetic polishes, all by Sally Hansen - Kinetic Copper (copper), Ionic Indigo (blue) and Silver Elements (silver),
Polishes did marbled well, despite them being on the older side. They are still nicely fluid, rather than thick. Then, I was applying magnet while they still been on the top of the water... then I picked them up with the stamper so I can have decals, and choose which one to use. So far so good.
Then application of the decals came, and that was my undoing. First, my decals dried too much, so they were brittle, and they cracked on my nails like there is no tomorrow. Then I applied the top coat, and it was not liking me at all. I spent lots of time trying to make them look decent, and even though they are nail fail, I still showing them off.
What did I learn from this?
First, there is no need of applying the magnet right away. You just move all the particles, and you may or may not use the part with the magnetic stripe.
Next, less marbling. so you have slightly thicker decals that may not crack, and do not wait too long before applying them.
I am curious how would they look if I give this another try? Time will tell if I will be again in the state of mind to do such a project.
Loved the color combo, but on some nails there is strong stripe, and on some almost none... that is the reason why I would not recommend the application of magnet before you place them on the nail. Maybe, next time I will actually do a real dip, and will not have to worry about cracking decals. See, there is so much to work on, and lots to consider.
It is Friday, thanks heavens, and looking forward to the weekend. Weather forecast does not sound so great, but I may brave taming of my garden again, I am still hyped from the work done last weekend.
Have a wonderful day.
Cheers!
