Before I go on with today's details, there is something I will share with you with really heavy heart. I have several manicures ready, and will post them, but I will have days without posts... That will be hard habit to break, but some things in my life are taking the front stage. My husband is severely sick, and I want to spend as much time I can with him, for what ever time is left to us. I will not quit this, because I will need escape from reality from time to time, but at this moment, all joy is sucked out of me, and I just don't have energy to keep pretense for much longer.
Today, I received a review package, and I will do review of the products, because that is just me. I accepted them, and I will do my part.
Luckily, as I mentioned before, I had folder full of things I have done in past month or so...
Today's manicure is one of those that waited for a while in my folder to be posted.
It is not a secret that I am fascinated with ancient civilizations, and Peru is one of the places I wanted to visit for a really long time. I wanted to see the ruins of ancient citadel of Machu Picchu and to walk the paths ancient Inka walked. How amazing would be to see that! I want to see Nazca Lines from the air... Yeah, total geek is checked in.
Whole manicure is done freehand. This may not be the neatest or prettiest work, but I really loved it.
I bright, rainbow like stripes on my pinky, index and thumb. This stripy design always reminded me of woven items like a rugs of blankets from Peru.
On my mid and ring finger, I did background using earthy colors and painted something that reminded me of symbols etched in stone and could be from the same era. Inka's worshiped Sun God, so one of the symbols is the one that is my interpretation of Sun symbol. I also did a bird on my ring finger. I have no idea what bird has to do with Inka civilizations, but it is one of the symbols often seen in many ancient civilizations.
As I said it earlier, this was done freehand just because I took advantage of 50% off sale at Winstonia, and I finally ordered some really good brushes. Those I purchased are called Berry Wine, and contains three really fine brushes that are meant for nail art. This was the first thing I painted with them, and was really proud of it. Everything was painted with acrylic paint.
For this manicure, my percussion frog made a appearance as a prop.
I wish all of you a wonderful day, until next time.
Cheers!
