I received a Born Pretty Blooming Polish BPHI11 Newborn, item #46213-4.
If you expect a polish in that bottle, you are in for a disappointment. Even though it is called blooming polish, it is nothing like a polish. It looks like a alcohol ink to me - it has consistency of the water. I did not know exactly how to use it, so had to experiment a bit.
You can use it two ways, depending which kind of effect you want to achieve.
First, I added a couple of drops over the wet nails, using the brush provided in the bottle.
Just touch your nail and watch magic happening. It instantly spreads, and size of the spread is proportional to the size of the drop you use.
I said I applied it on wet polish, but when polish dried, I applied more. Effect was pretty much the same. Only difference I noticed is that when applied over the wet polish, line between blooming polish and your base is so soft, almost invisible- great for the soft look, and I plan to use it next time over the wet polish for the specific look.
Over the dry polish, you will have a darker outline at the edges, for more sharp look if that is what you are looking for.
I did not attempt any complicated designs, as I did not know what to expect with this when I started, and that also helped with making the above mentioned observations. I have to play more with this one.
I am so happy that I picked grey, as this will make it more versatile for what I want to do in future, but in the same time, I want other colors too, for watercolor look.
Here it is how this looked over the white polish.
To be honest, I was pretty content to leave this as is, but in the same time, I could not let awesome background like this one just slip away unused...
I decided to add just a little bit of stamping, using a stamping plate I purchased myself, BP - A04 Passionate Desert stamping plate, item #42504.
Today, I decided to go with the bees, as I could take the design apart, and add little bit to each nail.
I picked up images using the Mini Mani Moo - Black, and I colored the wings using Celestial Cosmetics - Snow Unicorn. For the body of the bee, and for the dots, I used Konad - Special Yellow.
Even though my stamping choice was bit too matchy with my beautiful base, I loved the finished result. I could not stop looking at my nails!
Did I mentioned that now I want to have this blooming polish in all the colors? There could be so much possibilities, especially when they interact and create new shades and shapes!
If you find something else in the store that is not already on sale, you can use my discount code SHGK31, and save 10%.
