To participate, you have to build the kite from the scratch, and then you decorate it, and in the end, your master piece has to be able to fly... I did entered those competitions once or twice, and it was really fun.
They would bus the students from the whole region to the same huge field, and we would fly our kites. There would be award for the best looking kite, one that went highest, and one for the kite that lasted the longest.
Just imagine the sky with hundreds of kites in all colors and shapes! I wish that cell phones were available then, as this would make a really cool photos.
In the honor of my childhood memory, I drew the kite on my nails... not my best work, but it was fun to wear.
As a base, I used Celestial Cosmetics - Sunrise on Venus, pretty pink holographic polish with some scattered micro shreds in olive green.
As you can tell from my swatch, this polish dries matte, and has pretty unique color and finish.
I quickly freehand a little kite using the nail polishes, just because I was too lazy to go through my stamping plates in a search for the kite images...
We are in the middle of the heat wave, and temperature is between 36-40* C, and we know how little I care for the tropical heat...
I am wishing you all a wonderful day, and air conditioned home (unlike mine).
Cheers!
