This is the last item I received in my Christmas review parcel from Born Pretty Store.
I received a Watercolor Painting Pen, Item #46171-4.
You could freely guess I would pick the purple of all of the given colors. Pen arrived in 2 parts: the pen part, or should I say a brush part, and color ampule, that you had to mount on the pen, just like old fashion ink ampule for the ink pen, if anyone remember those. I do vividly, as we were made to write with them in school, and if you had a habit of pressing hard on your pen, you were in trouble, as quill would pierce the paper and create a hot mess...
This pen was less messy, but it is recommended on site to try to avoid skin, for possible staining.
Honestly, I obviously did not know how to use this pen, I made the lines, but they stayed the same... no blooming for me... then yesterday I watched actual tutorial on Instagram posted by Born Pretty Store, where they actually use another brush dipped into alcohol to make it bloom...
See, I am not a professional, and as with many other products I tried and used, I am learning as I am going, just like anyone else. Now you know I am a human, and I make learning mistakes. Now that I know how to use it properly, I might attempt something else in a year to come.
Already having many ideas here, just need to form one that will stick...
Because I got a solid color, I added some pink watercolor, thinking that will fix it, but once again, I was not happy with the result - it just looked washed out.
Then I had a brilliant idea to add some black contours, and I was finally happy with the result.
All that was done over the white base, on which I added some loose flakies.
All was topped with the matte top coat.
Love this look, and looking forward to using the pen again. You can check out the other colors, and while there, remember to use my discount code SHGK31 to save.
Hope you like this as much as I did.
Cheers!
