Summer started with the bang! That also means that there will be the Hawaiian Shirt Friday for the duration of the Summer, yay!
I prepared something different for this week, but it was too close in color with next few posts, so I decided to post something I did couple of weeks ago for the challenge, but decided against posting at the time...
My buttery yellow is Zoya - Pilaf. My Zoya drawer was not open in a very long time, and to be honest, I forgotten what I even have in there.
Pilaf is bit on the sheer side, and I applied 2 coats for this manicure. I am not big on sheer look, but I knew I will stamp all over, so this did not bother me here a much.
Actually I had something totally different in mind, so I was as surprised as you are what emerged in the end.
Mind, I love hibiscus flowers. I used to have a deep red one, and that would be blooming all the time. It was in the room that we now call the "Polish Room", and it absolutely loved it there. All the windows (7 of connected windows) gave it plenty of light and I mentioned it once or twice that this is the hottest room in the house during the summer, and can reach over 30*C easily...
Needless to say, it become too big for my space, and my hubby took it to the near by church. They have super tall ceilings, and they accepted all the plants that grew up to my ceiling...
I hope that they liked their new home as much as they did love being in mine.
There is lots happening with the manicure below, and not all is actually visible...
First I stamped palm leaves all over using light metallic green, but that was barely visible...
Then, using Uber Chic - Just Beachy stamping plate, I stamped hibiscus flowers all over the nails. It was all great until I picked up the dotting tool to add little bit more color... Yeah, I tend to go overboard from time to time.
Now, I done it in the evening, during the week as a manicure to wear to work, and I did not really had time to do it all over again... I was not too happy with this, and possible the reason why I decided against posting this couple of weeks ago.
Have to admit that this kind of grew on me. I don't straight out hate it, but I am not convinced that my color scheme is all that great either.
Do you know what is the best thing? Summer just began, and I will have plenty of time to do it all over again, and who knows, I may even like it next time.
This is all from me, and if you are in the areas that are affected with the heat wave, please take care - it is so easy to forget how damaging prolonged exposure to the sun can be.
Cheers!
