Both are done for the collaborations on Instagram, and first we are going here with #AllAbstractTuesday which I co-host. It would be really bad if host is not participatieng.
I really loved the inspiration this week. It reminded me of graffiti and crazy 80's designs. Totally my cup of tea, or coffee if you wish.
This was quite involved look if you ask me, but I do not care, as I having it on my nails since Sunday - you can see both hands pic at the bottom. :)
First, I sponged the base, and for that, I used Sally Hansen - Pacific Blue + Cerulean + White On + Color Club Nail Lacquer - Little Miss Paris.
When that was fully dry, I used image on Uber Chic - UC 2-02 stamping plate, for which I did a spotted gradient using Colour Alike - Pink Power + Spun Sugar + Hit the Bottle - I am Woman, Hear Me Pour. What is spotted gradient? You apply dots of color on the image, and when you scrape it, you end up with really cool colored image. It works best on full nail patterns.
Over that, I freehand all the black lines using the brush and black acrylic. Acrylic gives me more time to work with, as it dries slower than the nail polish, and also applies with less texture as it levels up pretty good before drying.
All was topped with glossy top coat, and I was totally smitten.
My dominant hand did not ended up as good as non dominant one, but I thought that I did pretty good job with my non dominant hand too. This design was hard for me, as I am not really into graffiti, even though some of them are real work of art. All those lines without rhyme or reason are so foreign to me, but I did rise to the challenge, even if I have to say so.
I hope that you had a good start of the week, and that is the good sign that rest of the week will go well.
Cheers!
