I wanted to practice glitter placement, and found through trial and error, that the best results in glitter placement over the whole nail, I actually achieve- on my mat. It is so much easier to apply it on the flat surface than it would be on the curved. I can trim the glitter decal to desired size, and I do not have to worry about having piece unfinished, or sticking out.
I made big enough decal to have for a placement on both hands.
As a base, I used OPI - Put a coat on! After my base was dried, I cut out dried decals to fit the size, applied sticky base coat ( I used Yellow Stopper by American Classics), and when that one dried out a little bit, I applied the glitter decal.
Over the finished nail, I applied 2 coats of top coat, to smooth out the surface, so it would not get caught on my clothes or hair, and I was good to go for few days.
I also used some gold striping tape and more loose glitters to decorate other nails.
I am so happy that I finally shared this with you. That ring finger reminded me of dragon scales, and with season finale of Game of Thrones, it seemed well timed to finally see the light of the day.
Cheers!
