I decided to participate in few prompts for What's Up Nails Challenge, and this is my first entry. There is a new prompt every four days, and I was too late for the first prompt.
This is me barely making it before the chance for the second prompt pass... and as you can tell, it was a glitter placement. Not feeling the great last few days, with my back being in all sorts of pain, but decided I needed to post this, or I will be stuck with another unposted design.
For this prompt I knew I wanted a fun combo, so turquoise and magenta were for the win.
My base is by China Glaze - Turned Up Turquoise, which is shade or two deeper in person. It does have a delicate shimmer, and dries matte, but I really love it glossy.
For this prompt, I decided to revisit the technique I never seen anyone but myself uses. What I do is that I place my glitters on my stamper head. You can take your sweet time, add or deduce the glitters in your design, and all of that before you apply it on your nail. I used to add the top coat over, but since I first started doing the glitter placement like this I am skipping this step. I did it mainly because I wanted to be sure that I would not loose any of the glitters. I have no fears like this any more. If you ever decide to use this method, make sure that which ever design you want, to make it slightly bigger than your nail. I did have some glitter "left overs", which were easily removed with a little bit of sticky tape.
I applied Orly - Bonder, and after I let it air dry for a minute or so I simply "stamped" the glitters on. I could also turn the pattern until I was happy with the way it looked on my nail before stamping, when I was happy, I stamped it on the nail, then sealed it with couple of layers of top coat to smooth the surface.
Originally, I did a heart design for my ring finger, but I was obsessed with the circles, so I removed the heart from my nail, and replaced it with the circles. I was totally amazed how round those ended up considering I was free handing or should I say free placing those glitters on my stamper head.
Colors are sure to break the any Winter blahs you may feel.
Have yourself a very good week.
Cheers!
