I started by using two different magnetic polishes as a base. On my middle and ring finger, I am wearing Sally Hansen - Silver Elements. I figured that silver would nicely show black and metallic antiqued gold of the foil.
All the other nails-China Glaze - Magnetics - You Move Me. This polish fantastically mimicked the gold in the foil so it was the perfect choice for this manicure.
To apply the foil, I used the foil glue. This glue was sitting in my desk for a while, as I never used the full coverage of foil on my nail... That said, there was some gunk around the neck, and I was cleaning it just before application of the glue, and I had it all over the place. What a mess. I purchased glue from Born Pretty Store long time ago, and if you are ordering the glue on line, my advice would be not to order it in the winter. My first glue arrived in the dead of the winter, and when I finally got home, that baby was frozen solid, and had to throw the bottle in the garbage, as once frozen, it was good as dry.
Trick with foil glue is that you let it dry until milky white of the glue turns translucent. Then apply the foil and try to work out the wrinkles. Just remember when applying the foil to apply matte side towards the nail.
I was hoarding the nail art supplies for a while, so I have no clue where this foil came from. I suspect I purchased it at local craft store as a part of set, but I may be wrong.
To preserve the look of the foil, I use water based top coat by Piggy Paints.
That is all from me. Have a wonderful day, and see you tomorrow.
Cheers!
