When I started this, I was not even sure that this would even work, but there was only one way to find out.
I took the photos during the process, as I was not sure if my explanations would be sufficient.
I needed some soft and light base, and for that purpose I decided to use Lyn B Designs - Too Pure To Be Pink.
Long time ago, I ordered some templates from Ali Express, but they sent me wrong one... and that was it for me. I put the template away, and did not look at it for a very long time.
Every time I would come across it, there was a little seed of idea that was starting to sprout, and I knew that eventually I will have to try it out.
For this manicure I used round and star shaped template. This template was designed to be placed over the stamping image, and then you pick the image up with the stamper, so you actually only picking up whatever was exposed. Here is the photo.
Now we got to the experimental part.
I actually wanted to create smooshy pattern, pick it up with the stamper and stamp on my nail as a shape, that I can stamp over...
I used My Bliss Kiss - Simply Neat Miracle Mat, and I started with few drops of the polish, I smooshed it with one stamper, than I placed the template and picked up smooshy with the other, promptly stamping it on my nail.
Polishes I picked for this were China Glaze - Dance Baby, At Vase Value, Flip Flop Fantasy and Quo by Orly - Little Miss Sunshine. Aside for the Flip Flop Fantasy, effect was pretty soft, but that was what I was actually going for.
I definitely plan to revisit this technique in future.
As I mentioned before, I did stamped over these, using the same shapes as the first time, and for that I used Hit the Bottle holographic stamping polishes in - Lucky Spark, Hololulu Blue and A Glint Of Gold.
For this I picked tight, smaller patterns on the HK-04 stamping plate.
This is how this looked after this stage.
This looked like some kind of pastel holographic galaxy that Unicorns may be living in...
You guessed it. I added an Unicorn image that is on MoYou London - Hipster Collection -21 stamping plate that was part of March My Mani Box. This box was sent to me by Beautometry, and I included the links.
Stamped using Hit the Bottle - As Black as Night. I had to freehand little part, and you can totally tell which one.
Wishing you a Magical day.
Cheers!
