Case in point is this absolutely stunning gel I received from Emily at Born Pretty Store.
Gel in question is FG05 Danger Lady from their Foggy Gel series, item #45101-5.
I applied two coats of color over the gel base coat, and topped with Born Pretty - No Wipe Gel Top Coat, item #42885-2.
Each gel in the series has a little matte 'grains' not quite glitter, and not quite the sand, as it applied and cured without texture. This one has burgundy colored little dots, and I absolutely loved the look of this gel. Last Autumn, I missed out on the regular polish from the different maker, that was very similar to this one, and still can't get over it. Seeing the color, it was all right in my little world.
Polish looks stunning with glossy top coat, but I had to see how it would look with the matte top coat, and I have to say I love it even more!
For some reason, this reminded me of the stone - sandstone maybe... or fancy granite.
Of course that I would do a nail art over this beauty, but trust me, I pained me to cover it up.
I picked minimal design, and used brown stamping polish by Hit the Bottle - Espresso Martini, my newest obsession.
Images I picked are on the Born Pretty - Spring Garden - L003, item #42518.
I wore glossy version couple of days, than just added a matte top coat for couple of more days of wear. I just loved this so much, I kept in on for so long.
I included glossy and matte photos below.
Simple color scheme enhanced the pretty base, and simple monochromatic stamping made my stone reference even more pronounced. This totally looked to me like it was etched in stone.
Totally see myself wearing this gel on its own during the Summer - little step from white, that might be too stark for some.
As you already know, I do have a discount code: SHGK31 will save you 10% off of any fully priced item in the store.
Cheers!
