This one is all done in soft, pastel palette, and that is quite a achievement for me considering that I do not really wear pastels, and more often than not, I have no idea what to do with them.
Everything was done freehand with nail polishes, which is another great thing. It seems that I can go months at the time without picking up the brush, then I have whole bunch of freehand, before I abandon it again...
I started with a smooshy base using following polishes : Jessica - Sharktooth (white), China Glaze - At Vase Value ( light teal), and two polishes by Love, Angeline - Ammacarre (yellow) and Amuse Bouches (pink).
I loved the effect on the thumb the best, but was unable to replicate it on the other nails. This is how this looked before I carried on.
Considering the shape of my nails, this reminded me of the basket full of colorful, marbled Easter eggs...
What followed is quintessential spring/Easter manicure: dainty flowers, chevrons, dots and lines, and of course, what would be Easter if there is no Easter Bunny.
Only thing is, this bunny was hopping so fast, that before I even knew, all I could see was his back side...
For painting over this watercolor like background, I used really soft, neutral palette of white and shades of soft grey...
Even though such a soft manicure is far removed from my usual fare, I truly loved this manicure.
I topped this with a glossy top coat, and I loved the look, and luckily for me, I took plenty of photos before I decided to add a matte top coat. Have to admit, that was a big mistake. I loved this glossy, and vibrant, and I had a feeling like a matte top coat did not bring the best of it, quite contrary, it made it look flat.
Wishing you hoppy Saturday.
Cheers!
