I might play with the blog in a future, and I always look to improve things, no matter how challenging that may be for yours truly.
Heaven knows how much I love dragons. I must of been one of them in one of my previous lives! LOL! Just kidding.
I did a few dragon manicures in a past years, - I stamped them, freehand them, even did a 3-D version. I used different colors every time, and I am not sure if I did this particular color combo before...
I went with multichrome polishes this time, and I used two of them. First, I painted all of my nails with Sephora by OPI - S-Age is just a number. This is wonderful multichrome that shifts from gold over aqua to green and teal, and is stunning on its own.
I wanted to add it even more dimension, and I roughly brushed, or you can say almost a dry brushed diagonally from cuticle to free edge, following the edge of the nail. For that I used Black Heart Beauty - Green AB Iridescent NP. This one has a shift from green over navy to purple, and it just looked wonderful over S-Age is just a number. It was delicate dry brush kind of gradient, but I loved it just like that. First square photo was taken outdoors, in the shade, and you can clearly see the depth, and colors of those multichromes, especially second one. Purple is quite visible there. Last phot was taken outdoors, and you can even see little slice of blue sky.
If you follow me for any extend of the time, you should know that I have lots of stamping plates, and I am not bragging here. Most of them I purchased, even though I did got some as a part of press sample in my review parcels.
While flipping from one plate holder/album to another, I came to astonishing conclusion. Dragon images are rarity. They came rare and far in between, and there is no wonder that I always go to the same image...
Any of the plate makers are listening?
My to-go-to dragon stamping plate is from Messy Manision, MM21. I purchased that plate just because it contains solely dragon imagery. There are three full nail scale images, and one I always use for the dragon scale is so different than any other scaled image, that has to be dragon scale.
Even though I used that image in almost every dragon manicure, I always try to add a different element, and I done it here too, on my ring finger.
As an afterthought, I painted it with black nail polish, and I wanted big dragon head, and some flames in background - like a carnage after dragon attack... I grossly overestimated available nail surface here - LOL!
Image I wanted to use is on MoYou London - Fairytale Collection - 03 stamping plate. Flames I used are also on that plate, and I used mixture of yellow, orange and red polish for a realistic look...
Over that I stamped dragon head using S-Age is just a number, and I did it several times, and last time, I also added some of the Green AB Iridescent NP so shading and depth would match the scales.
That looked pretty good, even though my flames got covered almost completely... and head was slightly too big for my nail, so using a small brush and black polish, I scaled down that head, and added some details that were not on the original image, that completely changed the appearance of it... but I did not hate results, quite contrary, I loved them!
No dragon manicure would be complete without my dragon claw ring, and some home made dragon egg.
I hope this fiery Wednesday will fly for you.
Cheers!
