I love dragonflies. They are magical, and to me they are almost like a bridge between our world and and that elusive fairy world.
In reality, they are our link to Jurassic era, a living dinosaur of sort... Maybe there is the hidden magic that I see in dragonflies. Every time I see the one, I stop in my track and just watch its mesmerizing and elegant moves, and it is almost like there is the message that it brings me, that is at the edge of my consciousness, and keep eluding me all these years.
If I ever get the glimpse of that elusiveness, I will let you know. Until then I will enjoy those rare moments that I get to observe one of them.
I love prototype sales, and grab bags because you never know what you will end up with. That is in great disaccord with my control freak side, and even when it is killing me not to be able to make my own choices, there is something exciting in waiting for unknown.
I especially like them with the brands that I am not familiar with, and I am trying to offset the shipping cost by getting a better deal per polish than purchasing one at the time.
Those surprise bags usually bring me some surprise shades that I would not necessary pick on my own - I tend to pick the very similar shades over and over again, so this gives me some of the variety and chance to give some other colors some chance is another plus.
This polish was in one of those prototype mystery bags, and seeing this polish in that bag really made my day. This is Fancy Gloss - Mystery prototype.
Unfortunately for me, it seems that I accidentally deleted the swatch photo, as I pulled this one out of my unposted manicures folder... Let's face it - with the heat as is, I make my manicures work extra, so I am actually painting my nails every 3-4 days. There is never a chip on them when it is time to change them, I just grow bored with them.
Now I mostly use the manicures I did before the heat escaped the hell, and made itself really comfortable here.
Anyhow, this polish got my heart into overdrive. Gorgeous eggplant purple base that is full of indigo blue and violet/red color shifting flakies. It is so pretty. Took easy 2 coats for full coverage.
Images I used here are on Uber Chic - 26-01 stamping plate.
I like to mix and match the images, and sometimes you just need something little bit different than you would do usually. That is pushing the boundaries of your comfort zone, and trying something different - you never know what you may like once you try it.
I used DRK Nails - Silver Holo to stamp the magical dragonflies, and Hit the Bottle - Poison Apple for the little doodle like image.
I really liked how this manicure looked in the end. Combination of red and purple is really very pleasing to my esthetics. I will definitely use it in the future. Contrast may not look much here, but I wanted my dragonflies to stand out, and doodles to be more in a background of it all.
All was topped with glossy top coat, as it brought out all the holo and shimmer of the stamping polish out.
With this I am wishing you a wonderful day.
Cheers!
