I hope I am back on track, as the big ball on Time Square is getting ready for the big drop at the stroke of midnight on New Years Eve.
I also grew up in the Disco era, and little bit later, when going to disco we nice way to kill the weekend... Disco ball was part of that experience. These days they are made of lights and laser beams, and can be programed to do whatever you want, but old fashioned ones were made of tiny pieces of mirror that would reflect the light at random.
That is where I was going with this.
My gorgeous purple polish is one of the Black Friday deals from NailStuff.ca - I took opportunity of BOGO event, and got me quite a bounty. Today I used Dimension Nails - Purple Gallinule. Such a gorgeous creme, and totally my kind of color. But you already knew that.
For my disco ball, I did a glitter placement. I made my life much easier when I accidentally found a great hack for the glitter placement. I actually place it onto my stamper. Glitter pieces will stuck to it, which means you are good to go and you can actually pre-position glitters on few stampers if that is what you need to do.
If it is just a little bit of placement, you can literary "stamp" it onto the nails over almost completely dry polish. There has to be little bit of tackiness, so glitters would adhere. This will save your sanity, as there is not race against drying polish, placing it little bit off (you can always move it on your stamper - I use orangewood stick), and everything looks nice and even.
Here, I made a decal - After placing the glitters, I applied top coat, then just peeled it off when polish was dry. With scissors I cut out the shape of the bottom of my nail, and curve of the disco ball. Then I just applied it over tacky polish. Easy-peasy.
I also stamped the few words from Clear Jelly Stamper - CjS H-03 stamping plate, stamped with Clear Jelly Stamper - 004 Steal the show.
Love the simple look of this manicure, and as a bonus, I played with glitters. Win-win situation for me.
I went to office yesterday for couple of hours to catch up with endless faxes... That will have to make some impact when we are back next week.
Have an amazing day everyone!
