In that parcel there was 5 different products, and today I will tackle the one I was really excited to try out.
I received the bottle of white ink. I truly had no idea what to expect, or how to use it, but that is actually part of the excitement to begin with.
This item is Nicole Diary - White Watercolor Ink, item #48630. Unfortunately, this item is not available any more.
Just in case that there is restock in the future, I will tell you few things about this item. First and foremost, shake the bottle well before use, as the solid white pigment will settle on the bottom of the bottle, and you want it on your nail.
Apply with the brush that came in the bottle, or with your own brush - I used both.
I found that waiting few seconds until solvent evaporates, will create the crisp edge, and will also look like overlapping layer is actually see through.
Best results are when I applied it as a blob, rather than brushed. "Blob" gave the crisp edge, and barely there center while just brush on acted as regular watercolor. I am not quite sure how to explain this better, but you may get better idea when you look at the photos.
You can manipulate this ink only with the acetone, so this is great product to be used over the gel polish rather than over the regular polish.
That said, I did use the regular nail polish - CND Vinylux - Couture Covet, beautiful deep teal crème over which I applied matte top coat before I started playing with the ink.
I have lots to learn about use of the ink, and one day I hope I will be able to create the "smoky" design, but for the newbie like me when it comes to this product, I was pretty pleased with my first try.
For the floral petals, I used the big brush that came with the bottle, but for the stem, I used one of my striping brushes. I also used the small brush for the added dots. They ended up looking like a little bubbles, which I liked very much.
To finish my delicate flowers, I added few yellow dots to make the delicate petals even more fragile looking. My favorite is the flower on my index finger.
Even though this item is not available any more, there is plenty of products in the store, and you are more than welcome to my discount code SHGK31 that will help you save 10% on your purchase.
