I know that we are all bombarded with cutesy images of pink and red hearts, kisses and Cupid's...and I guess, different strokes for different folks, and there is where this fits in.
Not every love story is the same, not every couple is the same... some are freshly in love, and everything is seen through rose colored glasses... some couples are together for the long time (yours truly is there too) and can clearly see, as they been together through tick and thin... some couples are harbouring some dark secrets - abusive relationships, or something like from 'Fifty Shades of '... Yeah, you got the drift. People are together for different reasons, or are alone for the same ones...
There is nothing wrong with being a single - I think you have to be able to accept and love yourself just the way you are, to be able to give and receive love you deserve from someone else.
There will also be a different category of people that will never be happy, no matter what - single or in couple, they will always want more, and be unhappy for not getting it...
Regardless which category you belong (and there is many in-between that I did not mention), we are all capable of love, and as the Beatles told us many years ago- "All you need is love, love is all you need..."
Truth is, I was tired of pinks and cutesy images, all dipped in a cotton candy and drizzled in chocolate, that I needed the break, and I went with this dark number. I wore this last week to work, and just happened to be posted today.
Base for this manicure is Essie - Haute Tub. I own this polish for about a year now, and this is the first time I actually wear it.
I decided to add another polish to this mix, one that have similar purple/green switch like Haute Tub.
My thumb and ring finger got a layer of Born Pretty Chameleon polish, color 221, item #27743. I provided you with the link, and you are more than welcome to use my 10% off code SHGK31 for all full priced items.
All images I used in this manicure are on SG-15 stamping plate. That is big round plate with the tab I purchased forever ago on AliExpress.
For stamping I used two Hit the Bottle stamping polishes. On my middle finger, I used Purple Reign, and was perfect match for those purple flakes in a Haute Tub.
Other nails got stamped with Pinking of blue. Pinking of blue is one of my recent purchased that I used for the first time here- which is a shifty stamping polish that on dark colors looks bright blue with slight pinkish shimmer, while on light colors, it is light pink with a blue shimmer.
It looks slightly different on my base polishes, and for some reason looks more pink over Born Pretty polish, which was great surprize for me.
Even though this was done on a dark base, I ended up loving my `Dark Valentine` manicure.
I loved that this was not one of those in-your-face kind of manicure, but more for-my-eyes-only type. Design did not jump at you, but I knew it was there, and that made me happy.
Today is my back to work day after long weekend... Hubby and I went for a brunch yesterday, as today is business as usual in my household.
I wish you all a wonderful day, and single or not, pass a little bit of kindness to the persons you will get in contact with today - that just might made their day.
Cheers!
